CIOB Tribute To Seanie O’Hare

Seanie O’Hare’s key role in the construction of the new Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine building for Queen’s University, Belfast, has been recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building.

The interdisciplinary research centre located on the Health Sciences Campus at Belfast City Hospital was opened in September 2015.

It houses 330 members of staff specialising in research into finding cures for eye disease and diabetes, as well as the development of a global programme to aid understanding of the genetics of complex chronic diseases.

Seanie, an OHMG Construction Director, was a finalist at the UK CIOB Construction Manager of the Year 2016.

He was among senior OHMG managers who attended the annual CIOB dinner in Belfast where his work was acknowledged by the CIOB chairman, Gerard Graham and CIOB trustee Ivan McCarthy.
