Film Studios And Three Other OHMG Projects Up For Awards

The new film studios on the shores of Belfast Lough is one of four major OHMG projects which have been shortlisted for the annual Northern Ireland Construction Employers Federation awards for excellence.

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at Belfast’s Culloden Hotel in October.

The £20m studios at Giant’s Park covers an area 120,000 square feet on the North Foreshore and is in the running for the Commercial Award.

Owners Belfast Harbour announced The Superman prequel, Krypton, a series in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television for the SKYF channel, as the first tenant.

Meanwhile the spectacular new Computer Science Building at Queen’s University has been shorted listed for the Education and Infrastructure Award.

The redevelopment of John Bell House near the city centre which was turned into high end student accommodation has been listed in the Restoration Award category, while the refurbishment of part of the Castle Court shopping centre, also Belfast has been named as one of the projects being considered for the Fit Out Award.
