Geraldine strikes Platinum for OHMG
O’Hare & McGovern has won another top environmental award.
Geraldine McParland, the company’s environmental manager, attended a ceremony at Belfast Harbour Commissioners to receive a platinum award from Michelle McIlveen, the Northern Ireland Minister for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
Chris Conway, the Business in the Community environment leadership team chairperson, also congratulated her.
The Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Awards attracts organisations from more than 14 industry sectors, covering the 200 top companies and leading public sector organisations.
They include health trusts, local authorities, education and library boards as well as universities.
The competition is a key driver for corporate environmental management and improvement and is recognised as a positive influencer helping organisations throughout Northern Ireland to achieve more sustainable ways of doing business.
The bench marking also enable organisations to compare performance and to learn from what others are doing. Effective environment management according to Business in the Community, provides an opportunity for companies and organisations to contribute to a sustainable future, make tangible cost savings and act as a catalyst for change.
